The Kubyauk-gyi in Wetki-in (there is another temple named Kubyauk-gyi in Myinkaba) was built on two levels. The tower, of pyramidal South Indian type, is similar to Maha-bodhi, the two temples being probably contemporaneous. The inside of the temple is decorated with wall frescoes. Many of these were carried off in 1899 by Th. Thomann, who sold them to various collectors and museums in Europe.
