Vishnu Defeats the Asuras

North wing of east gallery
Angkor Wat

This obscure mythological battle was carved in the 16th century (1546-1564), during Chang An's reoccupation of the site. The relief is considered inferior to Suryavarman's carvings of the 12th century, and is relatively little-studied. The photo shows a soldier who is riding upon a mythological creature; its carving actually seems quite fine, although it is not so deeply cut into the stone as the 12th century reliefs.
