Large Pond Royal Palace area, Angkor Thom

The large pond (145m x 45m, or 476' x 148') north of Phimeanakas was built (probably) by Jayavarman VIII; the three above-ground courses of its retaining walls are covered with reliefs depicting the three worlds of sea, earth, and heavens.
