Deoksugung Palace
Seoul, Korea (Palace Map)

Hamnyeong was the residence hall of Emperor Gojong and his queen. In 1904 a great fire broke out in the hall, which was subsequently rebuilt. In 1919 the Emperor died there. According to the palace website, Koreans suspect Japanese involvement in both events.

The hall was originally built in 1897, and its interior contains a mixture of modern and traditional rooms.
