Melon-shaped Wine Ewer

Celadon wine ewers like this one were popular during the Goryeo period. It is shaped like a melon. It has a tendril-shaped handle and leaf-shaped lid, and is decorated with incised underglaze vegetal motifs. A decoration of bamboo was also popular, as in this example from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
