Silk TombEast Ridge, Petra The Silk Tomb is named, rather poetically, after the beautiful, multicolored striations of its facade (which would, as mentioned elsewhere, have been plastered and painted over in antiquity!) The two-story facade has both an upper and a lower entrance between engaged columns. The entrance of the upper story is flanked by statuary niches. The cornice is a crow-step design. |
