Sho Kannon

Kanzeon-ji, Dazaifu

The seated posture of this Sho Kannon is a bit unusual, as most statues show the bodhisattva standing upright. His left hand holds a lotus bud, without accompanying vase.

The statue was made in 1066 of camphor wood. It is 10' 8" tall.
