Tirujnana Sambandha11th century
Tirujnana Sambandha is a boy devotee of Shiva. His iconography is often confused with that of dancing baby Krishna. Sambandha's right hand points upward, while Krishna's right hand extends palm out in abhaya mudra (See Huntington, p. 655, ch.21 n.34., and Dehejia, pp. 154 and 198). Click here for a similar example in the museum, dated 11th-12th century. |
