Ajaikapada BhairavaChaunsath Yogini Temple This one-legged male deity is rarely seen in Indian iconography. Its meaning is uncertain, according to Huntington (p.443), but this is evidently a one-legged form of Shiva, like the Ekapada Shivas at Mukhalingam. The present sculpture is situated in the left niche beside the entrance to the cella of the temple (see previous page). |
