Harihara

Hoysaleshvara Temple, Halebid

Harihara is a god half Shiva, half Vishnu - in this case Shiva on the (proper) right, with Nandi, and Vishnu on the (proper) left. There doesn't seem to be any differentiation between the two halves of the body in terms of ornamentation or crown; only the held attributes indicate the dual nature of this god.

The missing right side (photo right) of the surround is curious. The sculpture looks jammed into a niche which is not wide enough to contain it. This may be due to accident, miscalculation, or incorrect restoration.
