The panel is situated on the south wall, at the western end of the shrine. The Marriage is presented both as a public act and a private moment. Shiva and Parvati turn slightly towards each other, their inward-looking expressions implying a feeling of psychological intimacy; Shiva is holding Parvati's hand. Shiva's other hand, at photo right, holds the end of his sash.
