Funerary Complex of Djoser

Djoser's funerary complex consists of a number of buildings which were constructed within a large enclosed area surrounding his pyramid. The complex recreated, in stone, the temporary buildings associated with the king's heb-sed (renewal) festival. This magically allowed the king to celebrate the festival, and receive continually renewed health and vigor, throughout eternity.
