Two contrasting views of the admirable 18th-century Emin (or Amin) Mosque provide a good lesson about site landscaping. The view on the left is warm and inviting; its greenery and fountain encourage the visitor to pause and enjoy the site. No less important, the nearby viewpoint on the right displays the superb geometry of the mosque, without any distractions, for study and contemplation. The landscape designers of this site have provided opportunities for both kinds of appreciation.
