Pan

Early Spring And Autumn Period, 770 BC - 7th century BC
Shanghai Museum

The figures of this ingenious water container are able to rotate in place. They include various water animals such as ducks, frogs, and fish. Two predatory animals peer over the edge.

"Pan" is the only Chinese word I know that sounds and means pretty much the same in English: - a shallow, circular water basin. Don't get excited though, it is only a concidence.
