The new Three Gorges Museum is located in downtown Chongqing, next to People's Square and across from the Great Hall of the People. Opened in 2005 as a replacement for the old Chongqing Museum, it exhibits cultural relics that were excavated nearby in advance of the Three Gorges Dam project, as well as items from the old museum.

The undated statue in this photograph comes from the old museum. It depicts Guan Yu, a famous general of the Three Kingdoms period who was later deified as a god of war.
